2010 - 2019
Theater as one of the oldest art forms is converging with digital technology and new media.
Creating, composing, designing audiovisual content for theater is based on a long tradition of past forms of theatrical technology.
In the theatre context new media can probably be strongest when it is invisibly, almost magically, supporting the performance of the actors:
New Media contributing immersive qualities to the anthropocentric quality of the theatre stage.
Projections and videos can not only add cinematic narrative elements to a play but the true potential lies probably where the physical set is extended with visual time-based media constructions.
Music and sounds acoustically support on-stage actions, but the use of spatial sounds and the creation of acoustic environments transforms the perception of the space itself.
